Use the 2L stainless steel pot. Before connecting power, set the manual voltage switch to match the local supply while the cooker is unplugged.
ONE SIMPLE STEP AT A TIME
Let’s make something good.
Soften the apple
Add the diced apple and water to the stainless steel pot. Heat to a gentle simmer and cook for about 3–4 minutes, until the apple begins to soften.
Stir in the oats
Add the rolled oats, oat milk, cinnamon and salt. Stir well, then return to a gentle simmer. Keep the lid off and adjust the heat to avoid boiling over.
Cook until creamy
Simmer for 5–7 minutes, or follow the oat package directions, stirring often along the bottom of the pot. Add a splash of water or oat milk if it becomes too thick.
Finish your bowl
Turn off the heat and stir in the maple syrup. Let the oats stand for a minute, then divide between two bowls. Add nuts or seeds and a little oat milk, if you like.
Start with the right oats
Use old-fashioned rolled oats for this recipe. Instant oats cook faster, while steel-cut oats need more liquid and a much longer cooking time.
Cooking times are estimates and may vary with your ingredients and heat setting. Follow the instructions supplied with your cookware for operation and maximum fill levels. All recipe quantities are for the serving count shown above.
Something lovely, made by you.
